Operation Market Garden in the Dallas /Fort Worth area is in Sept. Is anyone going and if so, what side are you planning to play?

If I'm able to go, it will be Saturday only and would look at playing American.

This is a possibility for me, I'll know a little closer to the date.

We still plan to go to this game. It looks like 4 or 5 from Team Ironhorse will be there. We will not be pre-registering (cost $5 more). That way if the weather is bad, we won't play. We do plan to play Allie. It looks like all the German High Command will be there for the Germans.

This has all the earmarks of a great game. If you're in the area and plan to go, let me know; we'd like to team up with you.

Still unsure at this point, more likely not than yes. If I am able to go, I will play Ally.

Team Ironhorse plans to go down for the Saturday game. We plan to be walk ons, and see what side we end up on. If it's raining or very hot (over 100) we'll make the call on the game the night before the game.

I've had a minor (hopefully) medical set back, but I'm not planning on it stopping me from playing.

The game is two week from this Saturday. I'd love to see some 4th ID guys there.

I really wish that we lived closer to the area, we would love to play!

But unless my rich uncle gets out of the poor house, I doubt that we will make it.

Maybe next year after I win the Powerball Lottery!
LOL!!!!!!!

OK

Right now it still looks like we'll be leaving Norman OK early Saturday morning, probably 05:00 or 05:30. Bring some snack bars or eat before you get here. I don't plan to stop on the way down there. I don't know what we'll be able to do for lunch, there maybe something there to eat or you could pack a sandwich. We'll be stopping on the way home at a place, probably a subway or something like it. Because I'll be taking a second car (twice the gas), I need $10 per person to help pay for gas.

Anyone want to go from the OKC area let me know.

We plan to go to Red Dawn also. We'll be playing American! At this point, I'll be driving down on Saturday morning for the game.

I am also hoping to do some recon on Utah.

Weather forecast for Dallas on Saturday. 88 and cloudy. 4-6 mph wind. 20% chance of rain. Sounds like a great day to play paintball. I have room for one more, leaving from Norman at 5:00.

I would like to give a summary of Operation Market Garden that we played yesterday.

FIELD: The field was DWF Adventure Park in Roanoke Tx. The field looked like a fairly organized and professional field. A pro shop, clean rest rooms, HPA air fills at a true 4500 psi. Several speed ball fields, an ATV course and a woods ball area of about 50 to 75 acres. The land was mostly flat with some very thick thorny and regular brush. Chiggers and ticks were also in attendance at the game.
STAFF: They had a bottle neck at the check in. I would have excepted a faster check in. This cost the game to start an hour late. The refs did a fairly good job. They did good on safety and paint check. One player on the other team we thought was shooting hot, but they did not catch who it was. Someone was also shooting non-field paint. One ref was severely hurt late in the day and was med-o-vac off the field. He was shot in the head knocking him out of the tower and giving him a concussion. Paint was $55 a case for Premium and $65 for Marbleizes. I had one bad ball all day that cost me a death and a very easy kill. :(

GAME: The game as mentioned started an hour late. It was billed as 500 players. The truth of the matter is there were no more than 200 players there. At the start of the game the split was about 3:2 German : Allied. The Germans was more organized although their general didn’t make the game they had leadership to make a game plan. From what I can tell the Allies were not nearly as organized. We knew very little of what we were to do, what our objectives were. We did know we would be attacking an enemy that had position and numbers on us. We were on a retreat most of the morning and we lost some players during the morning.
They took about 2 hours for lunch and by the time we started back the Germans had 2:1 on us and by the end of the day it was about 3:1. We would have gotten completely pushed off the field had it not been for some outstanding plays from our guys. Team Ironhorse did a great job in our first scenario. I would like to personally recognize Caleb F for his role as a game Medic. He did an outstanding job!

Summary: If you’re in the area and want a cheap scenario check into this, but there is no way I would drive a long distance for this game. I like Red Dawn or one of our local scenario much better.

I'll probably go to the I-40 scenario that they put on. They have them all the time there.
